About Nordic Blue Wellness

Nordic Blue Wellness is a sanctuary shaped by the meeting of water and body, breath and tide. Rooted in the mists and rhythms of the Pacific Northwest, we honor the intelligence of nature and the body’s quiet capacity to heal.

Each session here is an invitation—an offering shaped by the steady breath of the sea and the patient wisdom of the forest. Through therapeutic massage, somatic education, and gentle touch, we support the body’s natural flow: the movement of lymph, the quiet rhythms of the craniosacral tides, the slow unfurling of myofascial layers.

This is not just massage—it is a remembering. A return to the body’s original blueprint of balance and ease. A refuge where the nervous system softens, breath deepens, and the body finds its quiet pulse again.

  • Melissa listens with her hands and her heart. For over two decades, she has worked at the intersection of clinical skill and elemental presence, offering care that is both grounded and spacious—rooted in the anatomy of the human form and the subtle intelligence of the sea.

Melissa holds a master’s degree with a focus in somatic education and movement studies, grounding her practice in the belief that the body’s capacity for rhythm and repair is always present.

Her journey began on the rugged shores of the Pacific Northwest, where the pulse of tide and forest first taught her the language of resilience. Melissa worked as a nurse for tribal health in rural Alaska, tending to the needs of remote communities with clinical skill and compassion.

Alongside this, she has offered bodywork in clinical settings, luxury eco-lodges recognized by National Geographic, spas celebrated by Condé Nast, and quiet artist residencies around the world. As an instructor at the Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy, she has guided students in holistic modalities and somatic presence.

Melissa’s dedication to the body’s story is supported by her training as an ERYT-300 Yoga Teacher, with a focus on Yoga for the Pelvis with Leslie Howard and Trauma-Informed Yoga with Tiffany Cruikshank of Yoga Medicine. Her approach is both scientific and intuitive, weaving together a tapestry of modalities:

    • Lymphatic drainage to nourish the body’s rivers.

    • Biodynamic craniosacral therapy to honor the quiet rhythms of the nervous system.

    • Visceral manipulation to bring spaciousness to the core.

    • Myofascial release, a form of deep tissue massage, to soften patterns of tension and holding.

    • Holistic facial rejuvenation massage to restore the skin’s natural radiance

The body as storyteller—whispering its memories, carrying its quiet truths, and opening to the possibility of restoration.

At Nordic Blue, Melissa creates a space where healing is not a task but a gentle remembering—where the body can return to its own tidal intelligence, held in the patient currents of breath and touch. Here, she invites you to soften, to find refuge in your own rhythms, and to be carried by the quiet grace of restoration.
